Does anyone been successful with wine and com1 (ttys0) ? I have the only Windows App I use on an old Acer lappy and the laptop now has gone west. I can use the pgm in wine (version 1.0) but it needs to output data to / from the shop till using comms port. I have mapped in .wine/dosdevices the file com1 to /dev/ttys0 and in desperation a usb to serial converter /dev/ttyUSB0 both fail with "port initialize error" Any ideas as to why?
