setting up the eeepc to boot from the usb stick is a little weird. I'd
need to have one in front of me and a bootable stick to get this
exactly. But my best recolection is that in the bios under boot there
are 2 boot priority settings options. Having placed your bootable usb
stick in a usb port get into the bios go to boot. Go to the first boot
priority setup option and move "removable media" (or something similar)
to the top of the list. Come out of that option and go into the second
one, you should then see the name of your usb media in the list. If it's
not at the top move it there. Then go back to option 1 and check if it's
listed. I think removable media is changed to the usb stick name, or the
name is added to the list. This maybe the other way round. It isn't as
bad as it sounds, just shuttle between the two setup options and you
should see you usb media show up.

If you really have problems mail me off list and I'll go through the
process for real.
