On my NG834, under Basic Settings, is a section labelled Domain Name
Server (DNS) Address.  It has options;

  Get Automatically from ISP
  Use These DNS servers
     Primary DNS        ___ ___ ___ ___
     Secondary DNS      ___ ___ ___ ___

I've never tried a local DNS setup, so naively assumed it would work,
given that the local DNS machine exists and the entered details are
correct.

I usually use ISP DNS, but sometimes have top swap to another server
(not local) which work.
