Hi James,

Those comment lines are there so you know what disk it's talking about. 
  Uncommenting them will likley have no real effect.  Essentially what 
they're doing is this:

# the line below talks about the disk: /dev/sda6
UUID=af7e9966-bea7-48b4-b780-4ab9bf7669a2 /media/sda6 ext3 
nouser,defaults,atime,auto,rw,dev,exec,suid 0 2
