Its generally everywhere and anywhere. Example of a ping to bbc.co.uk:

--- bbc.co.uk ping statistics ---
20 packets transmitted, 17 received, 15% packet loss, time 19166ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 80.415/1565.696/3886.348/1272.494 ms, pipe 4

Ping to the default gateway on my connection:

--- 82.46.43.1 ping statistics ---
20 packets transmitted, 18 received, 10% packet loss, time 19135ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 115.171/1651.415/3779.527/1026.108 ms, pipe 4
