There are many Linux distros, some give you more freedom than others.
You can choose. Windows does not give you any freedom at all. That, to
me, is one of the most important reasons for using Linux instead of
Windows.

Thanks for the answer. I was just giving my installation of VB as an
example. There must be many situations where a newbie to Linux will get
lost and need help. I was just suggesting that there is a need for
plenty of people to help newcomers if we are going to work at getting
people to move across to Linux, whatever distro.
