Its basically breaking a standard. While you may not see any sense in that 
standard its there somewhere and people who really program the system 
understand it.
You'll end up like microsoft users - cant be bothered to actually work out 
whats really required of a problem so you go for the simpler option. Later on 
you discover you cant actually move on from where you are easily.
Ignore metadata at your peril!
