Re: [LUG] Google escape character- What does @ do in PHP?

Try google code search instead -  that will allow @ searches.  or use "at symbol"

Maybe it is to prevent email scouring.

This is mad!
I cannot for the life of me find out what google uses as an escape
character. I'm trying to put an "@" in the search, but google just
ignores it.

The reason is that I have a line which looks like this:

@mysql_select_db($dbname) or die( "Error: Unable to select database");

It works, but I want to know what the @ does and why it is there.

Thanks
Simon
