The support for Windows is usually a phone walkthrough of the required GUI instructions to fix the problem.
Linux, of course, breaks much more infrequently, because it's difficult to bugger up. Unfortunately, this usually means it's difficult to un-bugger, and this is time-consuming.
So if you're competent, it's cheaper - if you're the Linux equivalent of an MSCE, you're just concentrating the time...
