Step 1, go to Trago mills.. buy a PCI wifi card of brand "Sweex" it's an
Atheros chipset.. works in Linux easier than in Windows (typical eh ?)

As for the scanner.. do you get anything out of the command

"scanimage -L"

I get...

$ scanimage -L
device `hpaio:/usb/OfficeJet_G85?serial=SGG11E2SSVVL' is a
Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet_G85 all-in-one

you might not get anything, but it's worth a shot as a first port of call..
