That way I get a boring file icon with an optional emblem tacked on -
quick, useful but ugly ;)  Actually I'm using my old favourite Galeon
which I used with KDE in preference to Firefox.

Yup, I think that I may have seen the light :) Been using KDE for nearly
10 years but it seems to be getting  bloated these days and KMail
seems so slooow downloading mail compared with the GTK version of
Sylpheed-Claws I'm now using.
