I've never really liked the whole trap that games on PC are, its a
constant battle to get the latest HW, graphics cards etc and often you
find that you can't crank up the resolution because your system is not
fast enough. This is why i prefer dedicated games consoles that are
some what static. Although i do sometimes play sim city and a couple
of other games through cedega (wine) and even with directX->opengl
conversion they run OK.

Yes, you need a PS2 linux kit, i think there are issues like access to
the DVD is through a closed binary blob to stop game copying etc and
some other related issues. Not sure how easy it is still to get the
kits, check ebay etc.
