Hi Chris,

You can control the web browser temp files through the web browser
configuration, you won't have to worry about a swap file because
you'll have a swap partition on disk dedicated to that.

You can see what temporary system files are lying around in /tmp, /tmp
will be automatically cleaned on shutdown iirc, but I could be wrong.

You can check your disk use quickly and easily using df -h, which will
show how much space and how much is used in each disk partition,
unless you're running low on space you almost certainly don't need to
worry.

I'm pretty sure most UNIX applications clear up their temporary files,
with the exception of autosave information left by text editors, which
will re-use a clearly labelled file for each document you edit, ie.
foo.txt~ if you edit the foo.txt file - can be quite handy when you
need to recover something yourself too.
