As far as I can tell, no media gets the term 'hacker' right, and it's meaning is largely subjective. With free software, there is an organisation named, which they refer to, that has a very specific definition of the term. I'd like some working examples of software that is open source, but not Free Software. I'm not sure there's much - as long as people keep putting out the myth about a Linux operating system, or the benefits of 'Open Source', I think we'll continue to see this.
