Bah, any decent distro will have svg in there....

$ grep svg /etc/mime.types
image/svg+xml                                   svg svgz

But I suspect some might not have the good sense to include...

$ grep mime /etc/apache2/apache2.conf
TypesConfig /etc/mime.types

.. and of course not many browser support SVG :(

SVG is just a mark-up, one can always include it, that should upset Matt ;)
