I've got a couple of old DM printers that still work and, on an old dos system can kill a forest in a few seconds. However under CUPS all their input is from ps and you can grow a forest in the time it takes to print a page! Is there a sensible way of setting the printers to just take 'ascii' so I can print log files/source code etc in moments using these archaic beasts and still print pretty colours using CUPS?
