Hi folks, Now I know not everyone is a fan of Flash, but for those of you who are you might be interested to know that Adobe Flash Player 9 has been released. There is a Mozilla plugin and a standalone player avaliable here: http://blogs.adobe.com/penguin.swf/2006/10/beta_is_live.html (Click Go get it). I tried the plugin with Firefox and it seems to work okay. To install it I untar'd the tar.gz file and copied the libflashplayer.so to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and also to my user Firefox plugins directory (~/.mozilla/plugins) although thinking about it now it would have probably just have been easier to create a link. Just thought I'd mention it. As I said above, not everyone will be interested as it's non-free but it's possible that some of you folks might not have heard about it and would want to give it a try?
