Will be the support point for all non-Linux literate engineers. Will develop simple scripts for the production team. This role will be based in Exeter. Responsible to Chief Engineer Responsible for Test and validate new Linux software releases. Deployment of these releases. Development of test tools for the production Team. Product support. Main Duties Test and validation of new Linux software releases. Support non-Linux literate staff to use the Linux system. Implement scripts for automated deployment of Linux distributions and configuration. Liaising with the software development team. Person Specification Job title Linux Software Support Engineer Specification outline The successful candidate will be able to work in an ever changing environment within a company going through exceptional and dynamic growth and therefore experience in a high growth industry is preferred. The successful candidate must have good command of Linux system and is likely to have experience in networking and embedded systems. Key Personal Skills Able to work autonomously. Good personal organisational skills. Technical curiosity and self teaching. Essential IT Skills Fully Linux and Windows literate. Fully competent in the use of MS office. Understanding of network and related protocols. Knowledge of compiling Linux kernel and drivers. Qualifications ONC, OND, HND in Software or Electronic Engineering, or related professional experience.
