Ugh, Turboprint. We've had that discussion before too - please avoid using 
non-free software like that.

Yes, 64bit is a little adventurous sometimes. I'm disappointed that Mandriva 
haven't sorted out problems like this because most packages CAN be built for 
64bit (as Debian does) but it does require building each one properly.

If a package doesn't start on 64bit, it should simply be removed from the 
64bit archives until it's fixed, especially with a distro like Mandriva that, 
as Mandrake, built up a good reputation for being friendly to new users.

Or, to remain with 64bit, move to Debian. Probably not right now, just bear in 
mind for future reference - and a Debian install is more involved than a 
Mandrake/Mandriva install. You've only just got Mandriva installed, it would 
be churlish to ask you to install Debian now!
