I would be very interested to read more about this... we have Promethean ACTIVboards 
with "serial" interfaces at College, and I have struggled before now to get them to 
work nicely.  I even had an email from Promethean support techs suggesting that I 
hook the board up to a Windows machine and use VNC to connect to the Linux/Unix box. 
 Pah!
