Yeap.

If it is cron or anacron it should log to syslog.log.

There are also "auth.log" entries if cron has to switch user, which is
pretty common for routine disk intensive tasks like updating databases
of man pages and the like.

Oh and it also logs to syslog as "/USR/BIN/CRON" as well - you really
need to read the log files more often ;)

It is something in the nature of humans to think to look for the cause
(crontab entries) rather than in the log files, or maybe *nix users are
just use to things not leaving a trace when they work correctly?
