Haven't tried TLS not sure it is supported, dovecot supports POP3,
POP3S, IMAP4, IMAP4S by listing the ones you want on the configuration
file. The Debian Sarge install creates self signed certificates, and
also allows "login" auth as well.

I wouldn't describe dovecot as more fully featured, indeed simpler and
tidier would be closer to my opinion. More Tao ;)

Nope, I'm trying to give up VPNs in favour of putting stuff over SSL, at
least where email is concerned.
