Sounds a good idea,  so far I have

openoffice.org 1.1.4
thunderbird
firefox
tux paint
jalbum
Doom3 Linux (binary and demo package)

I think it was discussed that the lug should put together something like 
this,  I am trying to create something that is cross platform, i.e 
include both Linux/Windows/MacOSX binaries,
