for changing the owner/group of a device from root to scanner. (see mine

Exit the editors and ensure that libusbscanner is executable and owner
and group
are both root.

Using something like Kuser create a group called scanner and assign
yourself to it and any other user you allow to use the scanner.

Now you should be able to scan as a non-root user.
