Are you using a uk mirror?

Check out /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources

I use:
yum fedora-core-3 
http://zeniiia.linux.org.uk/pub/distributions/fedora/linux/core/3/$ARCH/os/
yum updates-released-fc3 
http://zeniiia.linux.org.uk/pub/distributions/fedora/linux/core/updates/3/$ARCH/
