So what do we do?, write to them and ask them to support the fsf against software patents?
Things are changing fast at the moment, Paul, the reason for that email has already been and gone (in favour of free software too). http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=327 The current focus are the workshops on 'technical contribution' which will happen from March onwards, as well as keeping an eye on the restart in the European Parliament. For now, concentrate on the workshops, anyone considering attending OR providing input should join the FFII and READ some existing software patents. Get a handle on the language, rate and review existing (granted) patents that would become enforceable if the UK Patent Office stance is written into law. http://www.ffii.org/ffii-cgi/aktiv?l=en Participate, adopt a patent (read and review it), get an understanding of the problems. -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.dcglug.org.uk/ http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/isbnsearch/ http://www.neil.williamsleesmill.me.uk/ http://www.biglumber.com/x/web?qs=0x8801094A28BCB3E3
