-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Wondering if anyone on the list has much experience with udev, the "new, improved, more environmentally friendly" replacement for /dev. I installed it today on my home system (debian sid, 2.6.8 kernel) largely to see if I could get my usb stick and cds etc automounting. However due to this change, not only would X not start (I use the closed source nvidia drivers), but I wasn't getting any sound either. Anyone have any ideas how to set things up so that both of these work with udev installed, as I have since removed it and gone ,back to the old devfs system which everything runs under quite happily. - -- James jamesk[at]homeric[dot]co[dot]uk Greed is never good - Linus Torvalds -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.5.8 <http://mailcrypt.sourceforge.net/> iD8DBQFBvz4CqfSmHkD6LvoRAr/tAJ48urPhpBsrMyzkXLXPwBPSxYsYrgCffIp1 5cgIofWuzkcMXMxTotMkEHo= =FYjd -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
