[LUG] 4kb HD Icon on Desktop?
Mandrake 10.1 Enterprise:A hard disk icon appeared on my desktop two
days ago.
First, upon clicking the properties tab,kio_devices_mounthelper reported
that it *appeared* to be a swap file of 3GB.Added "check device is
mounted properly".
Today, accessing the properties tab invokes an error message, listing four
possibilities:wrong fs type,bad option,bad superblock on /dev/sda10,or
too many mounted file systems.
Also "calculate" now returns a size of 4kb.
SuSE 9.2 is installed on sda10.No problems aside from an intermittantly
wobbly display. No errors, and I even ran the diagnostic tools on the
installation DVD.
BIOS fine,DMI Pool never better,POST is perfect,RAID contollers happy as
Larry...
Nothing to indicate that a disc is dead/has a lead unplugged..so,I'm
wondering *why* the icon has suddenly appeared.
4kb sounds like a superblock,rather than a bloomin'great hard disk,anyway.
What do the Gods Of The Linux Universe think?
Meantime,I'll run some tests from Phrealon.
Thank you,
Sadie
