I have had a "free" account with uklinux for years, the only problem I have 
had recently was aknowledged and sorted very promptly.  If it is a problem 
affecting many users the explanation can usually be found on their status 
page.

When they first started out, Linux users were a bit thinner on the ground, and 
they were a welcome haven.  I don't know what their current politics are, but 
then what about all the other ISPs?

To me it is just a reliable service.
