Mozilla.org has just released a new new version of Firebird, 0.8, only it's not called that anymore. After another name change it is now called Mozilla Firefox. Seems to be just about the same as 0.7, but I have not yet used it enough to check if they have fixed that annoying occasional bug with form textentry fields. The mozilla ftp site seems a little stressed out at the moment but it has hit the uk mirror service so you can find it here: http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/0.8/ Also upgraded to KDE 3.2 on my SUSE 9.0 system using Suse's rpms (also available on the UK Mirror service. This version of KDE definitely feels quicker and more responsive on my Athlon 700 so I guess there must have been quite a bit of work "under the bonnet". As for eye candy - I'm not sure I will get used to the "application starting" icon which now _bounces_ along at the side of the mouse. Kmail has an "as-you-type" spell checker and Konqueror has not crashed yet! So far so good.
