As a quick fix for that, give each user an account on the mail machine, and then run VNC giving them a remote desktop which they can view from any machine, including the mail machine. Very Unixy.

Mozilla is nice for handling email by IMAP4 - which would allow you to store email on one machine - the server for this purpose - and access, forward and otherwise manipulate it from any machine. My copy of Kmail doesn't do IMAP.
