Modem is hardest, but they cost almost nothing on a PC card so why not 
just buy one separately.

You may get a Thinkpad R40e at that price, just, and apart from waiting 
for 2.6 for suspending to work easily, they are nice.

Or one of the Dell Lattitudes.
