don't think it matters what the Linux box is called, and
localhost.localdomain is probably fine for most things.

It is however bizarre to have the OS famed for it's firewalling
capabilities, protected by an OS famed for it's insecurity.

Is this some sacrificial firewall config, like the armies that use to
march the old and decrepid into battle before the young and fit.
