I have been using an old Acer laptop (Celeron 666, 128M RAM, 4 Gig disk and 800*600 TFT) for some time now. It currently runs OpenBSD 3.3, although it has had debian and Slackware on it in the past, and has given me no trouble at all (not sure if the modem works as I use a 3com pcmcia nic). Anyway, just thought I would add another vote of confidence in Acers laptops.
