Extension Monitor cables work great, right upto the point where the Flo Light harmonics start Sproging onto the Cable, then you get ghosting and sync flicker.
Of course you can always get sorted at Vision Express

Long cables for screen, keyboard and mouse. Cheaper, less complex, faster, and screen resolution as native (if you see what I mean).
