Anyone else out there develop software on Linux ? What do *you* use as a

nano

nowt else ;)

i find MSVC horrible these days, i'm so used to nano + gcc, autoconf and
makefiles, although it took a fair bit of weeneing off msvc.

Yep, but I'm really old so I like an integrated debugger (and because of a
quirk of what I do for a living, I'm often writing quick-and-dirty once-off C
programs which never get a release compilation I spend a lot of time in
it...)

And I have to go back to MSVC quite a bit (the Nokia SDK's a case in point -
they had to put a cross-compiler out there and that's where they put it) so I
need something I can configure and forget (because I surely will forget it !)

I've had extended emacs recommended before now, but my mind's been poisoned by
vi and I can't remember all those state commands (I told you .. I'm old...)
