Re: [LUG] ADSL (wasn't anything to do with anything else)

The problem is that Telewest say it's an NTL area, and NTL say it's a Telewest
area, so a broadband cable connection is out of the question.

Urm if it has cable, why not go look at the manhole covers, or
speak to someone with a telltale new piece of tarmac running
towards their house.

They will either wonder how you knew they had cable, and call
the police because you are casing the joint, or welcome their
new neighbour ;-)

If there isn't cable down the street - join the broadband when I
make it myself club.

BT has been 'much hailed' for their pre-registration initiative

They have? We were lambasting them for not having one, Eclipse
set it's own up about 18 months before BT managed it.

Am I the only one that thinks BT should just get on with it and upgrade all
the exchanges?

No, you're not alone, but I don't think they should have to put
the big DSLAMS everywhere, face it some exchanges will be just
too remote to justify more than a small DSLAM.

Wireless broadband for everyone, that's what I say!
