what disk format are you using? ext3?

take a peek in /var/logs/.

then try "du -sh /*", find which directory has the huuuuge size,  then "du -sh 
/path/", again.  and again.. util you find the folder consaining the super 
large file.

*if* du doesn't shwo it up, then i would suggest it is either a mildly corrupt 
disk, buggy kernel/fs code somewhere, or if it's on the internet directly, a 
possibility it's been hacked (though i don't see why disk would show up like 
that, unless you have a *fast* net connection, and someone's running an ftp 
server).
