Both XML and HTML mark up structure and information.

Can you show a simple eg of html marking up data plz?

So what's the main difference between XML and HTML? Have I just asked a
question that has a huge answer? or can you very _simple_ summarise it in a
paragraph?

XML is a scheme[1] of markeup, HTML is an application of another scheme
of markup (SGML).

HTML is to XML as a WinZip (written in C++) is to Java.

[blinks] you what?

Quoting from Learning XML by Eric T Ray (ORA):

``...in spite of its name, XML is not a markup language; rather, it's a toolkit for creating, shaping and using markup languages. This fact also takes care of the second misconception, that XML will replace HTML. Actually, HTML is going to be absorbed into XML and will become a cleaner version of itself, called XHTML. And that's just the beginning, because XML will make it possible to create hundreds of new markup languages to cover every application and document type.''

I guess so! :( Will you reccommend a good introductary book plz?

There is no such thing ahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahah!

Well, not that I've found :)

See above.

XHTML itself is a major improvement on the slob that is HTML, enforcing
good document structure.

Yes, I am still here. MB
