All hard drives die, and I dislike when I see people cast blame on a
particular manufacturer. I say, buy a HD with best specs for the best
price. :)

There are some "early warning" features on some HDs with SMART ability I
think is one.  I was wondering, has anyone got any use of these
features under Linux (or windows for that matter)?
