Depends on where you live.
If it's plymouth like me, Telewest (was eurobell) say they will be 
introducing broadband in the summer - I'll belive it when I see it.
Other than that, it tends to be cheaper than ADSL. but they will almost 
certainly restrict you hosting - and what's the point in having a fast always 
on connection if you can play with it fully.
