On the 3com website or the driver discs there is a DOS program 
called '3c5x9cfg' which allows you to program the card (they are jumperless).  
This will also give you information (iirc) about duplex.  We have hundreds of 
these cards and i used this config program last year to write some boot scripts 
for them.
