I successfully applied for an Individual Learning Account (ILA) with a view to getting some dosh toward by postgrad study fees - behold and lo the money can't be used in this way. On telephoning it transpires it can be used for IT courses, and the person on the phone suggested all sorts of useful courses I might like to try, such as "Introduction to Outlook" and even "How to use Microsoft Word". Obviously my first degree was completely wasted if the government thinks I need £150 to do that sort of thing. Does anyone know of any USEFUL courses that could be paid for with an ILA. I've always meant to attack PERL seriously at some point and my Linux-Mandrake set-up relies more on prayer than any ability on my part? ILA's are available (I think) from either www.my-ila.com or www.my-ila.gov.uk or suchlike.
