[LUG] Interesting - RedHat 6.2
Couple of interesting things I discovered about RedHat 6.2 today.
1. The reason the HOWTOs aren't on hte main CD any more is because there
is a documentation CD-ROM. I guess they're trying to keep the core distro
to one CD. More stuff is getting moved out to the powertools CD as well.
2. If you specify a windows (FAT) partition in the graphical version of
disk druid, you can install to a loopback filesystem. Basically, your
entire filesystem (and you can only have one) is stored in C:\redhat.img
(and a similar file for swap). You then boot from floppy to use this
system (you have to boot from floppy - lilo is not an option). It's
noticeably slower (and redhat do warn you of this), but it's a great way
of trying without having to repartition.
