[LUG]Re: Low cost and low powered fediverse server

Hi

Because of the cost of Pi's I ended up buying two Lenovo ThinkCentres. I think it is a 920s with 16gb ram and a 720s with 16gb ram. Both are i7s. They run whisper quiet, almost no watts and run everything I need.

I have both set up with containers running Jellyfin, immich, nextcloud and a few others which I can't remember.

I process dvds and photos. I don't do a lot of text based stuff so the remainder is website work and emails.

I would love to get a pi at some point but the servers were £80 and £140.

Kind regards

So, to try kick things off,  This is a current topic on Mastodon.

So a Raspberry Pi 0W (Wireless),  running NetBSD,  running a Mastodon
server.   It looks pretty neat,  from that article has very low overhead
in terms of system resources.

The source and other details are due out in September.
