Sorry, my fault for not being clear. When I talk about the 'root' password I mean the one to use with sudo. I do know that there is a separate one for, what shall I say, the real root.

What my original question was about is the log in password being the same as the one needed with sudo. We are all using Xubuntu, so under the Ubuntu system, how do I find the root password, as opposed to the one to log in and use with sudo?
