Tom te tom te tom > This version is going to be given away free (free as in cost, rather than freedom remember) and then I think it is some sort of developer edition The problem is , schools may end up getting windows for the pi as the staff are used to using windows, people don't like change, the kids don't have a problem with switching between OSs (same for most of us here I guess) People will stick to what they are comfortable with, Kids will experiment but are then held back by the abilities of those teaching (or assisting to teach) them or even the technicians in schools.
