Looks like its trying to write out an attribute that is not supported on the destination file system. OECustomProperty is an outlook express/microsoft mail thing that can contain extra metadata over the standard mail header. So you probably don't care about that anyway if you only use thunderbird. What i'm slightly confused about is that it appears that this is being found by rsync in an ADS stream not an extra standalone file, which implies a file system source of NTFS or HFS? got any funny mounting going on here to NTFS shares etc? Also i was under the impression that rsync knew nothing of ADS but that might only be true for native win32 rsync which uses cygwin, if rsync is accessing an smbmount then probably ntfs attributes are exposed. The Mint system backup and Home partitions backed up successfully. It's been suggested previously the source HD may be dying due to I/O errors I had last time. Could this be related? The backup ended with this error message: sent 664181577 bytes received 4949 bytes 2630441.69 bytes/sec total size is 41824008012 speedup is 62.97 rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1070) [sender=3.0.9] Any advice please? Outlook sends attachments wrapped in its own system. Difficult for Thunderbird to separate as it shows winmail.dat. attachment. Seems to depend on how MS Outlook is set up to mail. This corrupts TB email. A guess you have incoming MS Outlook emails with attachments sent as MS Outlook files
Hi Eoin,Thanks for that. Obviously I do have friends who use Windows so it is entirely possible some of them use Outlook.
