I've got timekpr working on LMDE; it required non-trivial /etc file hacking, but I've got the procedure down now. Should fit all debian derivatives. timekpr is tested on Ubuntu IIRC but I think it's outdated even there.

I want to log her session out - I've put export TMOUT=3600 or similar into her profile but was wondering if there was a more up to date way
