Well, once you root you're free. Any apps installed can be unlinked from the marketplace and backed up freely so can't be disabled.
Not a big problem for me. I've resisted rooting and paid for a few apps I really like.
An alternative to titanium backup is clickfree backup, root not needed and backs up to many online storage services.
